I am on the third revision of a my design to turn a 14' sit on top tandem kayak into a sail boat. The goal is to transform it into a fully functional sailboat while retaining its ability to be used as a tandem kayak. The braces are made of PVC pipe, the centerboard is plexiglass, the mast is a heavy duty telescoping painting pole, and the sail is a salvaged sailboard sail. I took several pictures of the construction and use of the kayak-sailboat.
During my 3rd and 4th year at Penn State I starting working on a kettle corn business. Tobin Simonetti and I (along with other friends and family) worked together on a business plan and recipe to sell kettle corn at Penn State football games. I first started with a small kettle on our kitchen stove and migrated to better and better equipment. Mike Disori (friend and engineer at PSU) and I worked together to create a cooling bin to cool and salt the corn in. After several months of looking for a suitable location with no success, I decided to put the project on the back-burner and focus on my studies and other activities.
